Guess that means we're off to the PAC-whatever.
Beginning Aug. 29, United Airlines will offer nonstop service between Oklahoma City and its San Francisco hub.
United Express affiliate Sky West will fly one daily round-trip flight on 66-seat Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jets (http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6867,50597,00.html). The jets will be configured with six seats in first class, 28 in Economy Plus and 32 in regular coach.
The Oklahoman (http://newsok.com/united-adds-nonstop-flight-to-california/article/3566453) newspaper of Oklahoma City says "Oklahoma's growing bioscience sector helped persuade United" to add the route.
James Starnes, United's director of domestic planning, tells the Oklahoman the route will "provide a link between Oklahoma City's growing bioscience community and the established bioscience community in San Francisco."
With the route, United will fly to seven of its hubs from Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport (http://www.flyokc.com/). The others: Chicago O'Hare, Denver, Houston Bush Intercontinental, Los Angeles, Newark Liberty and Washington Dulles.
The airport says the San Francisco route will boost the number of nonstop routes out of Oklahoma City (http://www.flyokc.com/NonstopFlights.aspx) to 20.
